The oldest house in Bas Armagnac, the Dartigalongue family began to distill in 1813. In 1838, Pascal Dartigalongue founded the first Maison d'Armagnac in Nogaro, the heart of the Bas Armagnac region. In 1870 son Joseph acquired a large vineyard in Salles d'Armagnac near Nogaro.
The Dartigalongue Vintage 1974 Bas Armagnac is a highly refined and aged spirit, showcasing the unique characteristics of Bas Armagnac. Aged for over four decades in oak barrels, this Armagnac offers a deep and complex profile with a harmonious balance of spices, white blossom, and the signature "noble rancio" that comes with long maturation. On the palate, it reveals silky tannins, providing a smooth and expansive mouthfeel with remarkable length and a refreshing finish, which is a rare trait for an Armagnac of this age.
It is an exceptional example of Dartigalongue's craftsmanship, retaining a youthful energy while reflecting the profound depth that comes from prolonged aging. This vintage is a fantastic choice for enthusiasts of fine aged brandies, offering both richness and elegance, perfect for sipping on special occasions.
