The oldest house in Bas Armagnac, the Dartigalongue family began to distill in 1813. In 1838, Pascal Dartigalongue founded the first Maison d'Armagnac in Nogaro, the heart of the Bas Armagnac region. In 1870 son Joseph acquired a large vineyard in Salles d'Armagnac near Nogaro.
The Dartigalongue Vintage 1984 40 Year Old Bas Armagnac is an exceptional spirit that embodies the tradition of the Armagnac region. Aged for four decades, it boasts a rich and complex profile. The nose reveals a fine bouquet with subtle notes of spiced raisins and caramelized fruit, enhanced by a delicate floral undertone. On the palate, it is supple and round, showcasing concentrated flavors of ripe peach, nutmeg, dried figs, and a hint of blonde caramel. The finish is long and smooth, with a pleasing rancio character, which is a hallmark of aged Armagnacs. This vintage is a true pleasure for connoisseurs, offering a balance of depth and elegance
