The oldest house in Bas Armagnac, the Dartigalongue family began to distill in 1813. In 1838, Pascal Dartigalongue founded the first Maison d'Armagnac in Nogaro, the heart of the Bas Armagnac region. In 1870 son Joseph acquired a large vineyard in Salles d'Armagnac near Nogaro.
The Dartigalongue Vintage 2004 20-Year-Old Bas Armagnac showcases the craftsmanship of the Armagnac region, known for producing elegant, age-worthy spirits. This vintage embodies rich, refined notes that have developed over two decades in oak, resulting in a complex array of dried fruits, toasted spices, and a subtly nutty profile. On the palate, it balances fruity vibrancy with a more profound, earthy depth, revealing a blend of caramelized apple, fig, and baking spices, accompanied by delicate oak tannins.
As with many Bas Armagnacs, this expression leans on traditional grape varieties like Baco and Ugni Blanc, enhancing its depth and contributing to its lingering, smooth finish. This vintage represents a sophisticated experience, offering both the classic Armagnac warmth and a distinct finesse found in carefully aged expressions.
