Origins & Craftsmanship

Redbreast 18 is crafted using the traditional Irish single pot still method, blending malted and unmalted barley, and distilled in copper pot stills. It’s matured for 18 years in a combination of first- and second-fill bourbon barrels as well as Spanish sherry butts, then further married and softened in finishing casks. The result is a beautifully integrated whiskey where strength and delicacy coexist.

Tasting Profile

Nose

The nose is intoxicating: rich dried fruit (figs, raisins, prunes), autumnal orchard fruit (pear, baked apple), honey, polished oak, and a whisper of vanilla. Beneath, hints of nutmeg, brown spice, and subtle leather or tobacco leaf emerge. With time, the aroma shows mocha and orange zest as well.

Palate

On the palate it is full, smooth, and deeply layered: dried fruits, dark cherry, strawberry compote, and marmalade lead. Behind this is a weaving of oak spice—cinnamon, clove, allspice—alongside vanilla custard, toasted almond, and a soft leather nuance. The texture is creamy yet lively.

Finish

The finish is long, warm, and graceful. Layers of dark fruit, oak spice, polished wood, and lingering honeyed sweetness fade slowly, leaving a soft echo of dried fruit and nutty warmth.
