"While the Inglenook Estate is perhaps best known for Cabernet Sauvignon, the lower portion of our Chateau vineyard, known as Tank House, has proven to be an exceptional site for growing white grape varieties.
The sandy-clay loam soils in this area of the Estate have good water-holding capacity and underlying gravel for drainage, features that are critical for the development of both Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
In 2011 the Inglenook winemaking team explored the idea of creating a Sauvignon Blanc–-French for “wild white”––by grafting clones of that varietal onto a selection of our Petite Sirah vines and were delighted to discover a citrusy white wine exhibiting floral qualities.
The 2013 vintage marked the debut of Inglenook’s Sauvignon Blanc with a notable bouquet and a crisp palate, perfectly suited for summer meals."
