A single estate Tequila from Ocho, made with agave sourced entirely from Rancho Mirandillas. With its 100% agave Tequilas, Ocho offers a chance to explore how different growing regions affect the style and characteristics of its spirits. It's fantastic sipped neat, over ice, but would also make fabulous Paloma!
Aroma: Very floral with notes of rose water, eucalyptus and honey with intense cooked agave.
Palate: Cooked agave, orange peel, grapefruit juice, rosemary and light anise.
"Named after the small town it resides in, Rancho Mirandillas sits at 5,200 feet above sea level, making it the lowest altitude field ever used for Tequila Ocho production. Mirandillas is fully exposed to sunlight, and its terroir is flat with small stones and a deep gray clay soil. As this area is mainly used for growing corn and sorghum, it was the first time in more than 50 years the field was used for agave.
This year's harvest yielded 2,200 tons from 63,000 fully matured agave plants, weighing an average of 78 pounds with a very high sugar content of almost 31%."
