🧪 Origin & Production

• Made at Ardbeg Distillery on Islay’s south coast—the home of intense peat and maritime character. Owned by LVMH, they use malted barley with approximately 56 ppm phenol content from Port Ellen malting.

• Aged in first‑fill ex‑bourbon casks for 10 years and bottled at 46% ABV, non‑chill‑filtered for full expression. 

👃 Nose (Aroma)

• Powerful and smoky with notes of burning rope, tar, smoked fish, and crispy bacon.

• Behind the smoke: lemon and green bell pepper, menthol, pear juice, and hints of pine resin and grapefruit. Water reveals additional coastal salt spray and floral complexity. 

👅 Palate & Texture

• Intense palate featuring peaty smoke, black pepper, cracked cinnamon toffee, dark chocolate, and espresso notes, softened by creamy undertones and orchard fruit sweetness.

• Medium-bodied with an oily, mouth-coating texture. 

🔁 Finish

• Long and resonant: layers of dry peat, espresso, licorice, anise, and bitter lemon peel. The smoke lingers gracefully alongside subtle oak spice and sweet barley notes.
